Great Expectations

Great Expectations is a spacious four bedroom villa offering four and a half baths, breathtaking sunrise and sunset views, two pools, hot tub and a tennis court.   With the guest house, Great Expectations can accommodate up to 14 persons.

It is a short walk from Great Expectations to Hart Bay where there is good shelling and snorkeling.  Chocolate Hole is particularly good swimming for children and is one minute by car.

The great room is fully equipped with cable TV, VCR, CD and cassette player with Dolby Pro-Logic Surround Sound.  Henry Link furniture with bright, tropical prints creates a Caribbean feeling in this breezy room.

The large kitchen boasts a convection oven, dishwasher, microwave, icemaker, and lots of other goodies.  The dining room table seats eight and an additional four may be seated at the kitchen bar.  Sunrises and sunsets can be viewed from the great room/kitchen.

The four bedrooms are in two separate structures, one on each side of the great room and kitchen area.  All have sliding glass doors opening to the pool deck and garden areas.

The adult pool has a 5 foot depth, and the separate kiddies pool is 18 inches deep.  Fiber optic pool lighting creates a special effect at night while enjoying the lights of cruise ships departing St. Thomas.  Relax in the hot tub or dine outdoors near the gas grill cooking area.

Your own private tennis court!  Or if you prefer, use the hoop and play basketball.

Each structure on either side of the main great room/kitchen area offers two large air conditioned bedrooms, each with a King bed.  The beds can be converted to twins.   Each of the four bedrooms has a bath with double sinks and an outdoor shower utilizing glass blocks for privacy.  Skylights keep the bedrooms bright during the day and make for fun stargazing from bed at night.

Each bedroom has sliding glass doors to the east with a view of the Caribbean and sliding glass doors to the west, opening on to the pool deck and garden area.

A short walk from the main Villa is a separate two story, air-conditioned Guest House with its own Jacuzzi swimming pool.  Downstairs in the Guest House is a fifth bedroom, the same size as the four bedrooms in the main Villa, with a Queen bed and two futons.  Upstairs in the Guest House is a large efficiency apartment (the size of the Great Room in the main Villa) in which the owners, who serve as the property managers when they are on-island, reside and is available for rent as part of the Villa when the owners are off-island from June to November.  The Owners' Apartment has a kitchen, living and dining areas, bathroom and a Queen-size four poster bed.  Like the main Villa it has a spectacular view.

VILLA BEDROOMS (accommodates 8+ persons)

The Villa has 4 air-conditioned bedrooms, each furnished with 1 King bed which can be converted into 2 Twin beds.  Each bedroom has its own private bathroom with a double sink, vanity and indoor/outdoor shower.

GUEST HOUSE BEDROOM (accommodates 2+ persons)

For larger groups, there is a 5th bedroom located on the first floor of the Guest House (the owners, who serve as the property managers when "on-island", reside upstairs).  This 5th bedroom is the same size (20' by 12') as the 4 bedrooms in the Villa.  The 5th bedroom is furnished with a Queen-size bed and two futons (one futon opens into a Full-size bed and the other into a Twin-size bed).  This room has a television and a small refrigerator.

STUDIO EXERCISE ROOM (accommodates 1 - 2  persons)

An additional 1 adult or 2 teenagers can sleep in the Studio which is about half the size of the bedroom described above.  The Studio, which serves as an exercise room, is located by the stairs leading to the basketball and tennis court.   It is furnished with a trundle bed which opens into 2 Twin-size beds.  The Studio has a ceiling fan, air-conditioner and a full bathroom.  It has a television and VCR with exercise tapes and exercise equipment.

In addition to the downstairs bedroom in the Guest House, during the Low Season when the owners are off-island, the Guest House includes the use of the Owners' Apartment which is located upstairs from the Guest House bedroom.   It is a large (20' by 24'), air-conditioned efficiency apartment the size of the Great Room in the Villa.  It has its own parking area, entrance, kitchen, dining area, living room and a Queen-size bed with a spectacular view.  It is equipped with a telephone, cable TV and an     AM/FM stereo with DC player,  It has its own bathroom (with bidet), double sink vanity and indoor/outdoor shower.  It has outdoor decks and both the east and west sides, a stainless steel outdoor barbecue grill, and a Jacuzzi swimming pool.

Not included in the rental rates is a $500 refundable security deposit.    Facilities for registered guests only.  $1,000 surcharge for group events.  All rooms are subject to a 8% room tax.  Prices subject to change without notice.
